Salary Calculator

Estimate take-home salary from gross salary.

About this tool

This salary calculator estimates take-home pay by subtracting a single user-entered deduction percentage from monthly gross salary. It is a quick budgeting tool, not a statutory Indian payroll or income-tax calculator.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter monthly gross salary.
  2. Enter an estimated overall deduction percentage.
  3. Calculate estimated take-home pay and deductions. Replace the assumption with actual payroll figures for a reliable budget.

Formula

Estimated deductions = Gross salary × deduction rate ÷ 100; estimated take-home = gross salary − estimated deductions

Worked example

For gross monthly salary of ₹75,000 and assumed deductions of 10%, estimated deductions are ₹7,500 and estimated take-home is ₹67,500.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an exact in-hand salary calculator for India?

No. It applies one simple deduction percentage. Actual take-home pay can depend on income tax regime, PF, professional tax, ESI eligibility, benefits and employer-specific payroll items.

What percentage should I enter?

Use a percentage based on your own payslip or an informed estimate. There is no universal deduction percentage for every employee.

Does it calculate income tax under the latest regime?

No. It does not apply tax slabs, rebates or exemptions. Verify current rules and use a detailed tax calculation for tax planning.

Should I enter annual or monthly salary?

The input is monthly gross salary. Convert annual figures to a monthly figure before entering them.
